Reasons to move Christchurch!
Christchurch; Dorset’s 4th biggest town by population is steeped in history and full of character and charm. With old and new parts creating a desired location, it’s now not just known for those wishing to retire in peace, it’s become an attractive location for those wanting to build a life full of quality and refinement.
There are many parts of Christchurch, loved by so many, and, as it’s home to the annual ‘Christchurch Food and Drink Festival’ which is a culinary delight situated on the picturesque riverside of the quay that attracts thousands each year, we thought we’d dive in with one of our favourite restaurants; The Noisy Lobster. This venue prides itself on offering freshly cooked, locally sourced quality food at reasonable prices. Located on the idyllic ¼ mile stretch of Avon Beach, it without a doubt offers one of the best dinning locations on the south coast with panoramic views for miles.
The town’s scenery not only entices people to visit, it encourages them to settle and stay for good; the quay, it’s walks take you to feel like you’re deep in the countryside which leads you to one of our favourites; The Norman House Ruins; situated on a small hill next to the river Stour leading down to the mouth. They’re highly valued amongst locals for many with childhood memories of playing knights and princesses, feeding the ducks and spending quality family time.
Not only is Christchurch a lovely place to bring up children because of the endless walks along the quay, feeding the birds, the great splash park, and the boat hire but Christchurch is home to some of Dorset’s best schools which outstanding OFSTED reports.
If you’re visiting for a weekend, we’d recommend staying at The Kings Arms, a gorgeous hotel that’s situated opposite the castle ruins and bowling green bringing opulent and elegance to the town. Their restaurant offers award-winning dining and Chef Patron, Alex Aitken, heads up the food with menus that showcase the very best local and seasonal produce; including the popular ‘15 Mile Menu’, with ingredients sourced within a 15 mile radius.
