Bournemouth Events this weekend

This weekend sees the return of the Pier fireworks starting at 10pm. There will also be live music from the Jive Aces between 8pm and 10.30pm on the stage at Pier Approach. This display is the first of the summer and not to be missed on the summer evenings.

The Thai Summer Fair marks its 12th anniversary on Sunday, August 2, at Kings Park, Boscombe. The popular event thousands of people last year and at Bournemouth it has now established itself as the most prestigious Thai fair in the UK. With classical Thai dancing and musical performances, Thai food and boxing, fruits carving, traditional Thai massages and activities for children, there is something for the whole family. The event runs from 10am-6pm. Entry is £5 for adults, under 18s are free.

The Big Bournemouth Family Fun Day is at the Pavilion on August 1 from 10am-4pm. It will be full of fun activities and entertainment for all ages from face painting, Punch and Judy, bouncy castle, DJ and balloon modelling from Jamie Jigsaw.

Free jazz festival Stompin’ on the Quomps takes place at Christchurch Quay on Saturday. There will be music from Groovemeister, Blue Commotion, Lemongrove, Not Just Sax and The Taverners. The event is celebrating its 21st anniversary this year, and will also host the Absolute Music Marquee. Music will start from 12noon.
