Tips For Moving….

Lovett have some fabulous tips that may help our homeowners when moving into a new property.

Tip 1:

Make sure you set up your Gas, Electric & Water. Shop around to get the best deal, it’s a very competitive market!

Tip 2:

Tell your banks! You do not want your ‘proof of address’ on current documents being different to your current address.

Tip 3:

Arrange internet connection at your new property. If you leave it too late you will risk not being connected for weeks! A normal waiting time for setting up a new service is 12-14 days so plan ahead!

Tip 4:

The DVLA need to know you’re moving so you need to update your driving licence and remember to change your address on the V5C vehicle registration certificate – these are both legal requirements. The police can now issue points if your current address is not on your licence.

Tip 5:

Pack the Kettle and some tea bags last, it will make it easier to find when you get to your new home, your going to need that tea and coffee when moving. Also knock for the neighbours and introduce yourself, community spirit still exists!
